Campania Tour No. 1

Tour Campania 9 nights and 10 days $2,900 per person

Fare valid for groups of 10 to 15 people. If your group is smaller than 10 or larger than 15, please request a customized quote.

The planned schedule assumes a Sunday arrival and is subject to change if the tour starts on a different day.

Sunday

  • Arrival at Naples airport.
  • Minibus transfer from Naples airport to Salerno.
  • Hotel accommodation
  • Ride along the promenade and the historic center of the city, visiting monuments and museums.
  • Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Monday

The entire day will be devoted to visiting Amalfi.

  • Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer by minibus from Salerno to Amalfi.
  • Excursion by boat to the Emerald Cave, the most famous site on the coast.
  • We will then visit St. Andrew's Cathedral and the Cloister of Paradise.
  • Lunch and spare time
  • Following lunch we will enjoy a tour dedicated to the lemon groves in the Valley of the Mills and view the cultivation of lemons and the production of the famous liqueur from the Amalfi Coast: Limoncello.
  • We will also visit the Museum of the Charter, a paper processing plant, where the processing is done by hand, just like in ancient times. You can watch the production of paper sheets and visit the ancient watermills.
  • Return to Salerno. Dinner and overnight.

Tuesday

  • After breakfast, a minibus will transfer you from Salerno to Vietri sul Mare, famous for its pottery.
  • A chance to stroll through several local shops including a workshop where you can witness the craftsmanship of pottery products and hand-painted ceramic.
  • Continue by minibus to Ravello.
  • Stop for lunch and visit the museum of the Cathedral, the museum of the Coral, and the beautiful Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone.
  • Return to Salerno. Dinner and overnight.

Wednesday

  • Minibus transfer from Salerno to Paestum, one of the most beautiful cities of Magna Grecia, a UNESCO World
  • Heritage Site.
  • The first stop will be one of the most famous farms in the region, whose owner is often present in radio programs in
  • New York and celebrated as one of the best chefs from the National Italian American Foundation.
  • Visit the production of mozzarella bufala DOP (PDO protected designation of origin), and take a cooking class with local products.
  • Lunch will be the meals prepared during your class.
  • After lunch, we will visit the archaeological site of Poseidon-Paestum and the archaeological museum that preserves the area’s artifacts.
  • Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Thursday

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Transfer by minibus to the monastery of San Lorenzo in Padula, the biggest monastery in Italy and among the largest in Europe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Visit the early Christian baptistery and have lunch with typical products from Cilento at a farm in the area.
  • Depart for Teggiano, one of the most beautiful and well preserved medieval villages in Italy and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Stroll around the narrow streets and churches, then depart to the Caves of Pertosa-Auletta. The caves date back 35 million years and are the most important in southern Italy. We will both walk and boat through the caves along the underground river Tanagro.
  • Return to Salerno. Dinner and overnight.

Friday

The whole day will be dedicated to exploring Naples.

  • Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer by minibus to Naples.
  • We will take a guided walking tour of the historic city center, corresponding to the area of the ancient greek-Roman city, its streets, and its monuments.
  • Lunch with the typical Neapolitan pizza, famous throughout the world.
  • Panoramic tour by minibus with a stop in Piazza Plebiscito to admire the San Carlo Theatre, the Royal Palace, Galleria Umberto I, Maschio Angioino.
  • Return to Salerno, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Saturday

  • Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer by minibus to Positano, popular with the international jet setters and the home of Positano fashion, famous throughout the world.
  • Walk through its narrow streets, among its clothing stores with accessories sewn and painted by hand, and in the shops of leather sandals made to measure.
  • We will break in Sorrento for a lunch of typical products from the Sorrentine peninsula.
  • Then we continue around the old town of Roman origin with a visit to the Cathedral, the Church of San Francesco, and the lush Villa Comunale, which offers spectacular views of the Bay of Naples. Free time for shopping.
  • Return to Salerno, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Excursion to Vesuvius with minibus transfer up to 1000 meters. To reach the crater we must walk about 1 km.
  • Visit the crater with a trained vulcanologist.
  • Lunch at the winery with visits to vineyards and wine cellars, tasting of wines, and typical local foods.
  • Continue on to the ruins of Pompeii. Visit with the archaeological guide.
  • Return to Salerno hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Monday

  • Breakfast at hotel and departure to Caserta.
  • Visit the Royal Palace, the supreme work of Luigi Vanvitelli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the huge park that surrounds it.
  • Continue to Casertavecchia.
  • Lunch and visit the beautiful medieval village.
  • Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Tuesday

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Naples airport for departure.

The price includes:

  • Transfer by minibus with guide (Italian / English) upon arrival on Sunday, and on Tuesday’s departure to the airport of Naples Capodichino. If you come on a different day, it is possible that the order of the visits on the tour could change based on the closures of sites.
